When we build websites for our customers, we are often faced with having to crop and resize their large portfolios of photos for them which is time consuming and can add to the cost of building the website.
If you feel like tackling this yourself to save you paying us to do it, there is a great tool call Photoscape; a brilliant image editing and cropping tool. Best of all, it’s FREE to download.
For editing, cropping or re-sizing large quantities of photos use the Batch editor in Photoscape.
Step 1: It’s important to separate all portrait and landscape images into separate folders because different cropping rules will apply to each.
Step 2: Click on batch editor
Step 3: Click on the ADD button in the top right corner of the window and add the images that you want to edit. Ensure that you edit the portrait and landscape images separately.
Step 4: Once you have added the images you want to edit, under the resize area select crop and change the size to whatever size has been recommended by your web designer. They will give you a value in pixels for example: 400 by 600 pixels for landscape images and 600 by 400 pixels for portrait images.
